Ring in the New Year with SLO Symphony!
SLO Symphony presents ‘Rhapsody in Blue,’ a New Year’s Eve Pops concert featuring star pianist Maxim Lando. Maxim Lando will perform two great works, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 10. The concert will also feature Michael Abels’ “Global Warming,” symbolically referring to the warming of international relations in the 1990s, and music from film composers including John Williams’ A Hymn to New England, selections from Williams’ Home Alone film score, and Alan Silvestri’s Polar Express Suite. The Symphony will also celebrate the arrival of the New Year with the East Coast Ball Drop countdown at 9:00pm during the performance.
