“The key to doing anything that’s worth doing is that there has to be some level of uncertainty.”
– Chris Burkard
Join us for a night of adventure with Pismo Beach native Chris Burkard. The event will feature an exclusive viewing of Chris’ documentary, Under an Arctic Sky (39 mins), showing the jouney to make history by surfing under the northern lights. Local icon singer/songwriter, Inga Swearingen, will open and perform originals (including a never before released single!) with her full band.

Following her love of singing, Inga studied voice at Cuesta College, Cal Poly University and Lucerne School of Music, eventually earning her masters in choral conducting from Florida State University. During that time, she received her first invitation to appear on Garrison Keillor’s radio show, A Prairie Home Companion, an opportunity that led to over a dozen appearances on the show.
Inga teaches vocal jazz singing and improvisation at Cuesta College and continues to perform and record with multiple groups varying in style and genre.
“Inga Swearingen’s melodies unfold like Virginia Woolf’s best sentences, patiently building to an expected climax before transcending it like a sweet exhalation of air.”
