Wheelchair Accessibility: The Center offers wheelchair accessible and companion seating. Patrons in wheelchairs also have the option of transferring to designated seats. Please tell the ticket seller you would like to purchase wheelchair-accessible seats or if you wish to transfer from your wheelchair. |
Children: All patrons entering the venue for a ticketed event must possess a valid ticket, regardless of age. Children are welcome at most family-designated events if publicized by the sponsoring group. Even though it may be possible for a small child to sit in the lap of an adult, the child must still have a ticket. If a child is acting in a way as to distract other patrons or the performers, the accompanying adult must escort the child out of the venue until it is appropriate to re-enter.
Babies: Babies are not permitted into performance venues at the Center. This policy is strictly enforced out of respect for all audience members and as a courtesy to our visiting artists. The only exception is if the sponsoring group has specifically advertised that “babies are welcome” in the venue. Patrons entering the venue for a ticketed event must possess a valid ticket, including babies.
Cell phones, beepers and electronic watches: Cell phones are not allowed in performance venues. Please turn off beepers and electronic watches prior to the performance. In the Cohan Center, if you may need to be reached during a performance, the phone located at the House Manager's podium is 756-6284. As a precaution, please give your name and seat number to the House Manager prior to the event.
Fire/evacuation notice/first aid: If you are instructed to evacuate the building in the event of an alarm, you are required to do so in a quick and orderly fashion. The exit sign nearest your seat is the shortest route to the outside of the Center. For first aid, please contact the nearest usher.
Food and beverages: No food or beverage of any kind may be brought into the Center's performance venues.
Latecomers: The seating of latecomers during events is at the discretion of the House Manager. The artist management has selected those times which are least likely to interrupt or disturb other patrons. As a courtesy to the performers and other audience members, latecomers may not be seated in their assigned seats until after intermission. It is the management's policy to begin performances at the advertised times. Patrons leaving their seats during a performance may have to wait in the lobby for a period of time before re-admittance to the venue.
Personal apparel: The management reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone whom the management believes is wearing improper attire for the event. The management is not responsible for personal property left in the venue. Items found in the Center will be kept in the Administrative Office for a short period of time before they are given to the campus "Lost and Found."
Photographs and Recordings: The taking of photographs and the possession and/or use of an audio or video recorder during the performance is strictly forbidden. All such items must be surrendered at the House Manager's podium for the duration of the concert.
Service of alcohol: If wine or beer is sold at the intermission, beverage containers must stay in the lobby.
Smoking: Cal Poly is designated as a NO SMOKING campus (Administrative Bulletin Number 87-1). No smoking will be permitted in any location within the facility or on the outdoor Terrace on the Gallery level of the Cohan Center.
Ticket Office: The Performing Arts Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and additionally on the day of a performance, beginning one hour before curtain. The inside ticket window is for will call and advance sales during intermission. On the day of a performance, the Ticket Office will typically close at the end of the first intermission.
